According to Gray, Robinson’s parents recognized their son in the images released by the FBI following Kirk’s murder on the Utah Valley University (UVU) campus.
Alarmed, they decided to call him directly to confront him about his involvement in the crime.
During that phone call, Robinson hinted that he was the shooter and said he could not go to prison.
“I just want to put an end to this whole situation,” the young man reportedly told them, suggesting he planned to end his life.
Political Justifications After the Crime

According to prosecutors, when Robinson’s parents asked why he had acted this way, he responded that Charlie Kirk “spread too much hate.”
The accused also allegedly explained that over the past year his political views had shifted sharply to the left.
His mother told authorities that he had begun engaging in issues related to LGBT rights advocacy.
He was also in a relationship with his roommate, a transgender woman, which marked a significant change in his personal environment.
Written Confessions from the Charlie Kirk Murder Suspect

Prosecutors also revealed new evidence that strengthens the case against him.
Robinson’s partner handed over a series of text messages in which he confessed to the crime.
In those exchanges, Robinson detailed that he had killed Kirk and asked his partner to delete the evidence.
He even instructed them not to speak to the press or the police about what had happened.
Handwritten Note Implicates Robinson
In the apartment he shared with his roommate, Robinson left a handwritten message.
“I had the opportunity to eliminate Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it,” read the note found under a keyboard in the residence.
The letter confirmed that the attack had been premeditated.
According to authorities, the suspect had been planning the murder for more than a week.
